A Muslim actress has received threats after she appeared topless on the front cover of Playboy.

Sila Sahin, the 25-year-old star of German soap Good Times, Bad Times has been labelled "whore" and "western slut" for posing for the German edition of the men's magazine, The Sun reports.

Her conservative parents, originally from Turkey, are said to have reacted with "horror" at the 12-page spread and her mother has refused to speak to Ms Sahin.

Islamic internet sites have raged at the shoot and German intelligence agency BND is now monitoring the threats.

One person posted "She needs to pay", while another wrote that the soap star need to be "very careful".

A kebab shop owner told German television he would "kill" Ms Sahin if she was his daughter.

"I really mean that. That doesn't fit with my culture," the man reportedly said.

Ms Sahin said she did the shoot in reaction to the "slavery" of her youth.

"For years I have subordinated myself to various societal constraints — The Playboy shoot was a total act of liberation," she said.
