An aspiring comedian who appeared on Australia's Got Talent on Tuesday night has been accused of ripping off another comic's jokes.

Gold Coast resident Jordan Paris, 22, impressed the judges with his routine lampooning Robbie Williams and was unanimously voted through to the next round.

But it looks like Paris copied most of his routine from British comedian Lee Mack.

Mack performed one comedy show show Live at the Apollo in London four years ago, using the same Robbie Williams gags.

When asked about the similarities between the two routines, Paris admitted knowing of Lee Mack but denied any plagiarism.

"Obviously there are a lot of people doing a lot of things but a joke's a joke," he told the Gold Coast Bulletin.

The live semi-finals of Australia's Got Talent will air next week and the public will vote for contestants they want to see in the finals.
