Playboy founder Hugh Hefner and his 25-year-old Playmate Crystal Harris have called off their wedding amid reports Harris is dating Dr Phil's son.

A source close to the couple said Harris "bailed" and left the Playboy mansion on Monday, leaving the 85-year-old "in shock", entertainment website Radar Online reports.

"She is seeing Dr Phil's son, Jordan [McGraw]. She thinks she is going to be living with all of Dr Phil's millions," the source said.

Hefner and Harris were due to get married next Saturday, after Hefner proposed to Harris on Christmas day.

Rumours about Harris and McGraw started four months ago after they were spotted together at the famous Hollywood hotel, Chateau Marmont.

McGraw's father Dr Phil McGraw is the host of the popular US talk show the Dr Phil Show.
