Billy Law had a "fowl" time at the hands of the MasterChef judges, who voted him the first of the Top Ten contestants to be sent home.

Mat, Hayden and Billy were called on to re-create a salt-crusted guinea fowl and thyme jus, while also creating two of their own side dishes to complement the bird.

They struggled to get their birds into the oven in time for the fowl to cook properly, but all three managed to plate up on time.

The judges felt Mat and Hayden's birds were slightly overcooked, while Billy had a perfect result.

But Mat and Hayden's side dishes and just rated highly, while only one of Billy's side dishes got the nod.

He left the kitchen holding close to his dream of opening a dessert bar one day.

"I don't know what's going to happen next but something's going to be fantastic, it's going to be big."
