Former Australian Miss Universe contestant Rachael Finch demanded to be paid $8000 to appear as a celebrity ambassador for a children's charity, a Sydney court has heard.

Finch's management negotiated a "significant fee" to appear in November 2009 at a McHappy Day fundraiser, which raises money for Ronald McDonald House Charities, the Daily Telegraph reported.

"(I) explained that it was for a charity and would be excellent PR, (but) at Rachael's request ... negotiated a significant fee for this charity role," manager Grant Dwyer said in a statement tendered to Downing Centre Local Court.

The claim emerged during a legal battle between two of Finch's managers from early in her career, Mr Dwyer and Deborah Miller.

Ms Miller told the court that Mr Dwyer was "sly and underhanded" by setting up a bikini photo shoot for Finch.

The pictures from the shoot were later published in lads' magazine FHM without Finch's permission.

Mr Dwyer also said he had negotiated a $45,000 makeup endorsement deal and a $36,000 Disney contract, but claimed that Finch was too demanding so neither deal eventuated.

Finch is now managed by David Malina, who is not involved in the court case.

The beauty queen, who placed fourth in the Miss Universe pageant in 2009, was presenter of Channel Seven travel show High Road, Low Road.
