The Victoria’s Secret model who quit her job to "honour" her husband with her body says he was "thankful" for her decision.

But Kylie Bisutti, 21, told America’s ABC News her husband Mike Bisutti had not pressured her to stop modelling lingerie in any way.

"He obviously prayed about it, I know that now, after talking to him but he was so sweet and let me come to this decision on my own," Bisutti said.

"He is very thankful. Very, very thankful," she added with a laugh.

Bisutti made international headlines yesterday when she announced she was quitting lingerie modelling because she felt it clashed with her Christian faith.

"I just became so convicted about wanting to honour my husband with my body and wanting to be a role model for other women out there who look up to me," she said.

Bisutti shot to fame in 2009, just months after she married, when she beat 10,000 others in a model search to land the job with Victoria's Secret.

She said still planned to continue taking some modelling jobs.

"I'm definitely going to pursue modelling, I just want to be more wholesome about it and the jobs that I choose are always going to be honouring the Lord," she said.
