Adelaide's Mix 102.3 has lost listeners but is still the most popular station in the city.

The Nielsen radio survey says Mix has lost 1.6 percentage points but still has a 14.1 per cent share of the listening market, ahead of DMG radio's FIVEaa which has dropped 1.8 for a 12.1 per cent share.

The biggest mover, according to the first radio ratings for 2012 among all people, was 5JJJ, which gained 2.3 percentage points for a 7.8 per cent share.

In the vital breakfast timeslot, the biggest loser was Nova 91.9, with Maz, Dan & Shane dropping 2.5 percentage points to finish on 6.7 per cent of the audience.

5MMM picked up listeners across the day, with its biggest win in afternoons, where Mason Edwards and The Rush Hour both helped add 3.1 percentage points to the 10.1 per cent of the Adelaide audience.

The largest swing in any of the age groups was SAFM, which picked up 8.4 percentage points to 26.4 in the 18-to-24 year age group, which appeared to be deserting both Mix and Nova.

Nielsen's brief report did not say how many of people completed the diaries in which they were asked to record what they listened to each quarter of an hour between January 15 and February 11.

But Nielsen says the minimum target number of respondents needed for an effective survey of Adelaide was 1,750 people aged ten or more.
