An English celebrity chef was left red faced when he said "delicious looking d---" while trying to introduce a dish on live TV.

James Martin was trying to say "delicious looking dish" as he introduced the meal prepared by fellow celebrity chef Rick Stein on BBC cooking show Saturday Kitchen Live.

The embarrassed host holds back laughter as he apologises and corrects himself while guests on the show, including Bank Job host George Lamb, can be seen cracking up.

The 39-year-old goes onto explain the dish over the guest’s laughter before saying, "I do apologise for that".

Martin is most widely known as the host of the English version of Ready Steady Cook.
