A former Playboy playmate has taken out a temporary restraining order on an ex-boyfriend after claiming he brutally beat her and threatened to kill her while they were holidaying in Hawaii.

Glamour model Dalene Kurtis was granted the court order after she was used as a "punching bag" by her ex, according to celebrity gossip website TMZ.

The 2002 Playmate of the Year was allegedly choked, punched, stomped in the stomach, spat upon and had her finger broken by her former lover.

Kurtis called the police during the holiday after the ex said he was "gonna kill (her)" and to "slit (her) throat".

The temporary restraining order also covers her two-year-old son.

She is scheduled to appear in court today to have the order made permanent. The 31-year-old swimsuit model first found fame after appearing in Playboy in 2001.

It's not the first case of reported domestic violence against playmates, with 1980 Playmate of the Year Dorothy Stratten murdered by her estranged husband.
