Pop diva Mariah Carey stunned staff of a British breakfast show with bizarre demands to her swollen entourage.

GMTV presenter Kate Garraway told the UK's Daily Mail that Carey, 39, was lowered onto the talk show's couch by two attendants. The singer apparently did not want to crease her dress.

The entourage, which outnumbered the TV show's crew, also included a person paid to walk backwards in front of Carey at all times in case she fell forwards while walking.

Members of the entourage were also equipped with television screens so they could check that at all times Carey was being filmed from her best angle.

While the singer didn't go so far as the Queen, who is known to have lavatories freshly painted or constructed for her arrival, she did supply her own toilet paper when visiting the studios.

Host Miss Garraway said all the rumours about Carey being a diva were true, but that the singer was "very nice."

Carey's management have denied Miss Garraway's claims as a "gross exaggeration."

The Daily Mail also reported that when appearing as a guest on the talent show X-Factor, Carey insisted on bringing her own butterfly-shaped confetti.

She recently came under fire from British health and safety authorities for reportedly wanting to bring 20 white kittens and 100 white doves to a ceremony to turn on a shopping centre's Christmas lights.

She didn't bring the animals to the shopping centre, but according to reports she did wear some very tight pants.
