A volcano-obsessed adventurer has captured spectacular images of giant lava lakes and red hot molten lava.

Patrick Koster, from Holland, has devoted his life to travelling the world to see active volcanoes and is so enthusiastic about the smoking mountains that he proposed to his wife on the slope of an active crater.

His photos show giant lava lakes in Ethiopia and molten lava in Hawaii falling into the sea causing ground-shaking reactions and clouds of steam.
