After more than 20 years hosting her eponymous show, Oprah Winfrey has announced she will retire from the program in 2011.

From her humble beginnings growing up in poverty in the city of Milwaukee to becoming the highest paid TV entertainer of all time, Oprah has based her success on connecting with the millions of people who watch her show every day.

But she has announced the 25th season of The Oprah Winfrey Show will be her last, marking a quarter century of hosting a nationwide talk show.
