A combination of dry and windy weather in central Australia has seen Sydney and northern NSW blanketed in a haze of dust.
Visibility was down to less than 500m in parts of Sydney as the dirt from the desert enveloped the harbour.
The hazy conditions were reminiscent of the more severe duststorm that blew through Sydney and Brisbane several months ago that turned the skies bright red.
The dust has been seen in Sydney to as far north as Moree and Walgett but is expected to clear as the conditions improve.
