Two extremely rare clouded leopard cubs have been born at the Smithsonian National Zoo in the US.

The tiny cubs are the first born at the facility in 16 years: breeding the animals is difficult because the males often kill the females when they are put together to mate.

Deforestation and hunting in their native region of Southeast Asia is making clouded leopards vulnerable to extinction.
