Darwin City Council workers believe they have caught the enormous fish that attacked a woman two weeks ago.
A huge estuary cod was hooked in Lake Alexander this morning following the hunt for the creature that had bitten onto the foot of a woman at the popular watering hole.
Measuring 75cm and weighing 5kg, the fish nicknamed "The Fannie Bay Monster" was snared just 10m from where the attack took place.
The cod was placed in a rubbish bin and transported 200m to the beach where it was released away from swimmers.
