Scientists in China have been mocked for causing a man-made snowstorm which jammed traffic, delayed air travel and left the city's inhabitants freezing because heating services had not been turned on.
Sunday's snowfall dropped more than 16 million tonnes of snow on the Chinese capital, delaying 200 flights and causing hundreds of traffic accidents, the China Daily reported.
Authorities shot massive amounts of chemicals into clouds over the city the night before to provoke the snowfall, which it said was needed due to a lingering drought in the region.
