Melbourne's love affair with the city's newborn Asian elephant has continued as new pictures of the calf are released.
The young female was finally coaxed onto the scales by keepers yesterday, weighing in at a whopping 111kg.
Baby, as she is currently known, was born early Saturday morning after mother Dokkoon's 22-month pregnancy.
She is bonding well with her mother and feeding regularly.
Melbourne Zoo staff will soon select a name to match her personality and behaviour.
