A Melbourne escape artist has honoured Harry Houdini with a daring underwater aquarium stunt.
Cosentino endured 3 minutes 39 seconds without air and a jammed padlock before freeing his shackles and successfully swimming to the surface.
He said he had to "mentally block out" the circling wildlife which included grey nurse sharks and stingrays measuring up to 3.6m in length.
Cosentino's act was created to mark the 100-year anniversary of Houdini's Yarra River performance in Melbourne.
