Outspoken racing identity Gai Waterhouse has angered critics after she slammed Julia Gillard's dress sense.
Commenting on a photo of Gillard in Japan, Waterhouse wrote on her daily blog: "It wasn't the carnage behind that gave me the horrors but the woman standing in front of it."
Waterhouse is known for her impeccable appearance but her comments do not seem to be welcome, with many people believing the PM's dress sense is not hugely important.
"Think she had more 2 [sic] worry about than frocks," tweeted pop culture commentator Melissa Hoyer.
"Can’t our leaders be stylish?" wrote Waterhouse about this photo. (All photos AAP)
