Australia's peak medical body will launch a "war on waste" campaign to improve Queensland's hospital system.
Australian Medical Association Queensland President Dr Mason Stevenson says doctors, including high ranking clinicians from Queensland Health, have worked together over four weeks to identify flaws in the way money and resources have been distributed.
He said wastage was crippling the state's health system.
Dr Stevenson will announce details of the campaign at 11am (AEST) on Friday after a meeting with Health Minister Paul Lucas and the director general of Queensland Health.
