A woman who saved her dying husband's life by giving him one of her kidneys now wants the organ back after he dumped her for another woman.

Samantha Lamb's husband Andy was suffering from renal failure and only being kept alive by dialysis.

In order to become a suitable donor, Mrs Lamb lost 19kg and in October 2009 underwent surgery to give her husband one of her kidneys.

Fast-forward to 2012, and Mrs Lamb now wants that kidney back after her husband walked out on her to begin a new life with another women – who turned out to be a friend of Mrs Lamb's.

"I hate him," Mrs Lamb told the MailOnline. "If I could, then I would take it [the kidney] back and give it to someone else."

Mr Lamb, 45, who denies having an affair with his wife's friend, said: "I never wanted her to donate her kidney because it was a big risk. But she insisted and I’ll always owe her my life".

The mother-of-one has now filed for divorce papers and said she hopes to get on with her life.
