Police with sniffer dogs apprehended 74 people for a range of drug offences outside Melbourne's Kiss My Grass dance party.
Police used passive alert dogs to detect drugs outside the event, held at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl on Saturday.
An 18-year-old Hampton Park man was charged with trafficking offences as a result of the police operation, and has been bailed to appear in the Melbourne Magistrates' Court at a later date.
Three people were charged with drug possession, 11 people were issued with cautions for cannabis possession and 59 others were referred to the drugs diversion program.
Police confiscated more than 180 ecstasy tablets, 24 grams of amphetamines, 11 grams of cannabis and four phials of GHB.
Acting Detective Inspector Mark Zervaas, who headed the operation, said police were disappointed with the results.
"There is this idea with some young people that taking drugs enhances their day out, in reality, they are putting their lives at risk by taking illegal drugs sold by people out to make a quick buck," he said in a statement.
"They might think this is just an ecstasy pill, but as police members, too often we see the tragic effect of these foolish decisions.
"Make no mistake, there is no such thing as a safe party drug."
Insp Zervaas said the operation was aimed at minimising harm and preventing overdoses.
No overdoses were recorded among the 10,500 people that attended the event, he said.
