A Queensland man has escaped serious punishment after exposing himself to a female colleague to reveal a genital piercing.
Leslie Reginald McMillan, 47, told the Ipswich Magistrates Court he showed his co-worker the piercing on October 23 because he thought they had a "jovial, joking relationship", the Queensland Times reports.
The woman, who was not named, later called police.
Defence counsel Simone Healy told the court that McMillan, a bus driver, had earlier shown the woman his tongue piercing and she had asked if he was pierced anywhere else.
When the conversation came up again on October 23 McMillan decided to reveal his genital piercing.
"He thought the relationship between the two of them was different and it obviously wasn't," Ms Healy said.
"It was not a matter of him walking around flashing himself."
McMillan was fired from his job over the incident and now faces losing his security licence, the newspaper said.
He escaped a criminal conviction and was given a $300 good behaviour bond for six months.
