A two-year-old boy has drowned in a dam in Queensland.

An ambulance was called to a rural property at Eidsvold, 400km northwest of Brisbane, about 1.30pm (AEST) on Monday.

People on the private property are understood to have performed CPR on the boy.

But paramedics arrived to find the boy dead, believed drowned.
