A Perth woman is pleading not guilty to murdering her seven-month-old twin babies.
Rita Ariyaratnam, 30, was charged with two counts of murder in Royal Perth Hospital in July last year.
Her twins, Sophie and Lachlan, were found unconscious alongside their mother at the family's Cloverdale house, in Perth's east.
The children's father, Selvin Ariyaratnam, found the trio when he arrived home but the twins were pronounced dead on arrival at Princess Margaret Hospital for Children.
Rita Ariyaratnam's lawyer told the Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court on Wednesday her client would plead not guilty to the charges.
She will appear in the Supreme Court of Western Australia on March 29 for a committal mention, when a trial date is expected to be set.
Ariyaratnam has been remanded in custody.
She has been in custody since waking from a coma in July at a psychiatric facility in Perth's western suburbs.
