A 17-year-old boy has been charged after allegedly slashing the throat of a woman who was asleep in her home in NSW's central west.
The 65-year-old woman was in her home in McMenamin Place in Kelso near Bathurst on Wednesday when she woke to find the boy in her room armed with a knife, police said.
The woman allegedly suffered cuts to her throat and left hand during the incident.
It is alleged the boy also stole a handbag from the woman's home a day earlier.
He has been charged with aggravated breaking, entering and stealing and is due to face Bathurst Children's Court on Friday.
