Two men have died after their convertible Mazda MX-5 smashed head-on into a table-top truck on the Pacific Highway in Sydney's north.
The men, both believed to be aged in their 20s, died at the scene after the crash at 11.30pm (AEST) last night.
The truck driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital for treatment.
The section of the Pacific Highway where the crash happened is reportedly used frequently by street racers.
Nine News understands that text messages are sent out weekly to about 20 people organising meets on the highway.
The crash follows another fatal head-on that happened about 3.30pm yesterday when a Subaru and a Ford sedan crashed at a sweeping bend on the state's south coast.
The two cars, travelling in opposite directions, collided on Forest Road, Callala Bay, about 8km off the Princes Highway, south of Nowra.
The P-plate driver of the Subaru — a 19-year-old man from Sussex Inlet — died at the scene, as did a 53-year-old woman who was a passenger in the Ford.
The driver of the Ford, a 54-year-old man, and a three-year-old girl who was a passenger, were taken to hospital.
