A tourist swimming in a picturesque Northern Territory waterway got a shock when a crocodile sunning itself on a rock scampered to higher ground before leaping directly on top of him.
Swedish tourists Ulrik Bergsland and Felix Andersson were relaxing in a lagoon in the Litchfield National Park when Mr Andersson had a close encounter with one of the Territory's iconic predators.
Fellow tourist Jakob Hellberg was filming a crocodile lying on a rock near the edge of the water as a goggle-wearing Mr Anderrson played around behind another larger rock nearby.
Suddenly the croc scurried up the rock next to the unsuspecting tourist and leapt off, landing inches away from Mr Andersson, who copped a slap to the face, according to Mr Bergsland.
The stunned Swede can be heard screaming as he thrashes his arms around before swimming away from the reptile.
Despite the attack all three men appear unfazed and remained in the water laughing raucously.
