January 22, 2013: Three people have been injured after a seaplane plunged into Corio Bay at Geelong.

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau is investigating what caused a sea plane on its way to pick up Jackass daredevil Bam Margera to crash into Corio Bay, near Geelong today.

It was earlier believed two friends of Mr Margera were on board the plane when it crashed, but the Geelong Advertiser has since confirmed the passengers were a man and a woman aged between 60 and 80.

Shortly after the crash Mr Margera tweeted: "Just about to drive a motorbike off a pier & get on a seaplane but the plane just crashed. Jesus Christ.”

ninemsn understands the plane was coming in to land at Cunningham Pier but instead came down on its nose and flipped over.

The trio were reportedly pulled from the water by a passing boat and taken to Geelong Hospital where they are in a stable condition.

It is not yet known what caused the crash.
