While ex-cyclone Oswald has brought death and destruction to large swathes of Queensland, Sunshine Coast residents have been treated to a 'winter wonderland'.
Strong winds have whipped up an enormous swell at Alexandra Headland, creating a sea of foam that has drawn tourists and caused a road to be closed.
The snow-like substance reached heights of up to 3m last night and today has spread far beyond the beach, crossing the road and almost arriving at the doorsteps of apartments and businesses over 30m from the shore.
