The moment an unknown man proposed to his girlfriend during a spectacular lightning storm on top of a Gold Coast hill-top has been captured by an onlooker.
The mystery couple were filmed by Brisbane man Stephen Stoker who was storm watching at Mount Tamborine in south-east Queensland, the Courier-Mail reports.
Video, which was later uploaded to Ms Stoker's Facebook, shows the couple walking along the hill before the woman stops to take a picture of a lightning strike.
The "love-struck" man then gets down on one knee and proposes to the woman, holding a ring out.
Video faintly captures the woman's scream as she embraces her fiancée – an obvious sign that she said ‘yes’.
"Mount Tamborine," Mr Stoker wrote on Facebook.
"Storm rolls in and stranger things happen."
As the couple celebrated, they remained oblivious to the lightning and pink sky behind them.
