Thousands of Irish expats in Australia are scrambling to get their hands on one of 24 coveted blocks of chocolate infused with the taste of cheese and onion flavoured chips.
The limited edition Tayto chocolate bars have sold out in Ireland but 24 have been sent to Australia so the nation's growing number of expats have a chance at savouring the unique flavour, news.com.au reports.
The bars are based on the popular Tayto cheese and onion flavoured crisps and the CEO of Taste Ireland Eamon Eastwood, who has the sought-after treats, said the response to a Facebook raffle has been incredible.
"I couldn't believe the reaction, it went off the Richter scale with almost half a million impressions," he said.
"It's an unusual taste - crunchy chocolate and then a lingering taste of cheese of onion".
The five remaining bars will be raffled off on Facebook today and another bar will be raffled at the Sydney Sofitel Wentworth tomorrow.
Mr Eastwood said he set up his company in 2005 so Irish expats could buy their own products from back home instead of having them sent over by friends and relatives.
