Boy falls off cliff in national park

Just after 5.30pm (AEDT) on Tuesday, the NSW Ambulance received a call the boy had fallen over a ten-metre cliff at Wattamolla in the Royal National Park.

An NRMA CareFlight medical team landed on the beach just 30 metres from where he fell within 15 minutes of the initial call.

They met up with a local ambulance paramedic and assessed the child.

The NRMA CareFlight doctor said the boy had fallen only two metres, and was not unconscious.

He was suffering severe neck and lower back pain.

He was airlifted to The Childrens Hospital at Randwick and is expected to make a full recovery.
