Former childcare tycoon Eddy Groves' imminent marriage to his partner, Viryan Collins-Rubie, comes while the ink dries on his December divorce papers.
The impending nuptials, confirmed by his spokeswoman on Thursday, take place as a multimillion dollar lawsuit, from ex-wife Dr Le Neve Groves, hangs over his head.
"He is planning on marrying Viryan Collins-Rubie in the near future," the spokeswoman told AAP.
"Given this is a personal matter, I am unable to confirm details relating to time and venue.
"I can confirm that the Groves' divorce was finalised in late December."
Le Neve is suing Groves for more than $60 million, according to News Ltd publications.
His defence was lodged with the Supreme Court on December 23, 2008.
Mr Groves and his ex-wife together built the ABC Learning childcare empire that went into receivership last year with debts of more than $1 billion.
Although the exact date and time of the impending nuptials has not been revealed, The Courier-Mail reports that Mr Groves has a booking on January 15 at exclusive Gold Coast wedding centre, The Villa.
The Groves' spokeswoman would only reveal that he was planning to host a small function for about 30 friends and family to thank them for their support.
The Villa's manager, Michael Foster, remained tight-lipped about the rumoured booking, only revealing that some famous people had tied the knot there - most recently surfing champion Mick Fanning.
"We've had some very extravagant weddings here and while some are prepared to spend more than others ... our rates start at around $170 per head," Mr Foster told AAP.
But price was usually no object to some of their wealthier clientele, he said.
Around-the-clock security patrols of the gated estate also meant privacy was guaranteed at the Nerang address.
And Mr Foster didn't deny the security guards were armed.
"Probably the less people that know what they're carrying, the better," he said.
"I haven't had a request for (security) dogs, but have had a request for police (to guard the venue)."
