A Sydney dentist has been charged with child sex offences against two teenage girls.

Police say the 41-year-old man's dental surgery and home, both at Penrith in Sydney's west, were raided by officers on Tuesday.

"The investigation relates to allegations made by a 15-year-old girl about an alleged indecent assault at the home in September 2008," police said in a statement.

"Investigators are also examining a second claim of alleged indecent assault made by a 16-year-old girl about incidents at the home on Monday, 16 February 2009."

The dentist was arrested at his surgery on Tuesday and later charged with two counts of aggravated indecent assault of a person under 16 years and two counts of aggravated indecent assault by a person in a position of authority.

He has been refused bail and is due to face Penrith Local Court on Wednesday.
