Parents are being warned against allowing their children to walk alone after a 13-year-old boy was approached by a stranger in Sydney's south.
The teenager was approached by a man driving a white panel van at about 5.30pm (AEST) on Friday on Craigholm Street, Sylvania, police say.
He became frightened and ran home after the man got out of the vehicle and spoke to him.
Police are calling for witnesses to help identify the man, who's been identified as Caucasian, bald and about 30 years old.
He was wearing a grey shirt.
Police say parents should be vigilant and are being encouraged to ensure their children are accompanied by adults when out walking.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
