The father of late Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin will appear in court on Wednesday over a coal seam gas protest.

Bob Irwin will appear in the Chinchilla Magistrates Court along with Friends of the Earth's Drew Hutton and Queensland Greens spokesperson Libby Connors.

They were arrested last month at a blockade on the Tara Estate, south of Chinchilla in Queensland's south.

The blockade was set up to stop the construction of a 16km pipeline to take CSG from five wells on the estate to the nearby Kenya gas processing plant.

Opponents fear the expanding CSG industry will contaminate groundwater, present risks to human health and devalue land.

Mr Hutton said he was charged with obstructing a mining company's activities without reasonable excuse, and Mr Irwin, Ms Connors and campaigner Thomas Brookes were charged with refusing to comply with a police instruction.

They're due to appear in the Chinchilla Magistrates Court.
