Brutal new mobile phone footage has emerged of a 14-year-old girl being punched, kicked and taunted in Melbourne's south east.

The shocking new evidence was aired on Tuesday and further highlights the worrying extent of bullying among Australian teens.

The girl, who does not wish to be identified, is now too afraid to go to school after being attacked by a 16-year-old girl five times in the last six months.

In the footage, given to Nine News, the girl is seen being punched in the back of the head before being dragged along by her hair while a crowd of teens stand around filming.

"Do you think you're f---ing tough?" the bully is heard screaming.

A teenage boy eventually steps in to stop the attack but not before the girl is seriously hurt.

"I was coughing up blood and I couldn't see anything," she told Nine News.

The bullying began with taunts over Facebook from the 16-year-old, who does not go to the victim’s school, before the threats became physical.

Now the victim claims she has had glass bottles thrown at her head and her family has been threatened.

Police have interviewed the bully but the 14-year-old says nothing has changed.

"There's not much they can do because this girl doesn't go to school," she said.

The mother of the bully claims her daughter has been bullied too and that there are two sides to every story.
