Schapelle Corby's family are concerned by her mental health after she swallowed nearly a week's worth of anti-psychotic medication in what may have been an attempted overdose.

Corby, whose medication dosage is controlled by authorities at Bali's Kerobokan prison, did not require hospital treatment for the suspected overdose, which occurred about a month ago around her 34th birthday.

The latest incident caused the convicted drug smuggler, who has been in and out of hospital in recent times with various mental disorders, to oversleep.

Her sister Mercedes, who has been visiting Corby every second day, insists the incident was not a suicide attempt, but maintains her sister is suffering psychologically.

"She went downhill quite quickly but once we knew, and gave her medicine, she stabilised within a couple of days," she told Nine News.

Schapelle Corby has been in jail since 2005 and faces another 11 years of prison life at Kerobokan.

Her sentence was reduced by five months last month to coincide with Indonesian Independence Day celebrations.

Corby is yet to hear back on a clemency bid based on her fragile mental state that was submitted to the Indonesian President 18 months ago.
