A man with a gun has held police at bay for more than six hours at a house north of Adelaide.
Police went to a Freeling house to investigate reports of gunshots about 10.30pm (CST) on Thursday, and were confronted by a man with a gun, a police spokeswoman said.
Police surrounded the property while negotiators were called in to assist.
The 29-year-old man refused to surrender to police negotiators until 5am (CST) on Friday, the spokeswoman said.
There were no injuries sustained by the police or the suspect.
The man was arrested and charged with endangering life, threatening life and firearms offences and will appear in Elizabeth Magistrates Court later today.
He is expected to be refused police bail.
