A Sydney mother at home with her two children answered the front door to a couple armed with a knife and cricket bat, police say.
Just before midnight (AEST) on Monday the 42-year-old woman answered a knock at the door of her home in Flers Way at Matraville in Sydney's southeast.
"A man and woman are alleged to have entered the home and assaulted the female occupant, threatening her with a knife and cricket bat," police said in a statement.
"The pair fled the scene a short time later with her mobile phone and a small sum of cash."
Her children slept through the incident unharmed but the woman suffered bruising in the attack.
On Thursday afternoon police arrested a 33-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man at nearby Maroubra.
The pair were each charged with robbery armed with an offensive weapon, while the woman faced an extra charge of having goods suspected of being stolen.
Both were refused bail and were due to face Central Local Court on Friday.
