The odds of NSW Opposition Leader Barry O'Farrell continuing in the job have slackened.
NSW Opposition Leader Barry O'Farrell's opposition of school performance league tables has seen him fall out of favour with the bookies.
Mr O'Farrell has been criticised from within Liberal ranks after he supported a Greens amendment to ban the publication of league tables and $55,000 fine for anyone who did.
Senior Liberals, including former federal education minister Brendan Nelson, have criticised Mr O'Farrell's position.
Sportingbet Australia said the criticism had taken the "sheen" off Mr O'Farrell's leadership, with the odds on him leading the coalition to the next election sliding out from $1.65 to $1.80.
Odds on his treasury spokesman Mike Baird leading the Liberals at the next election have shortened.
The opposition's chances of winning the next election have also taken a hit - blowing out from $1.48 to $1.55.
However, Mr O'Farrell is still the favourite to be the premier of NSW after the 2011 poll.
Labor has firmed for the first time in months but is still at $2.40 to win the election.
