A man was glassed when gatecrashers caused a fight outside a birthday party in Sydney's southwest.

Police were called to an industrial area in Campsie about 10.40pm on Saturday over a fight that had broken out between a large group of men.

Police say the fight started after about 15 gatecrashers turned up at the party.

They say about five of the uninvited guests attacked a 22-year-old man and smashed a glass bottle in his face.

The man has been taken to hospital with cuts under his eye.

A 19-year-old man, who police say had a knife, was arrested along with his 26-year-old brother.
