A young Sydney man has shared the most nerve-wracking moment of his life with a cinema full of strangers.
After weeks of meticulous planning, 20-year-old Bobby Nader proposed to his girlfriend last night in a surprise that left her speechless.
Jenny Moujalli, 22, was settling down for a movie night with the girls — she and her friends had arrived at Wetherill Park Hoyts early so they could get a good seat for the premiere screening of The Vow, a romantic drama featuring Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams.
But right before the film started, the screen went black and words appeared.
"Jenny ... Will you marry me? Love Bobby" flashed up.
Jenny broke down in tears and the crowded cinema burst into applause as Bobby appeared in front of the screen with a handful of red roses and a princess-cut diamond ring.

He walked over to the row of seats where Jenny was now standing and dropped to one knee in the dimly-lit theatre aisle.
Jenny said yes.
And she was still catching her breath minutes after the proposal, telling ninemsn how Bobby caught her completely off guard with the short clip.
"I thought: 'Hey that’s my name!'" she said.
"I kept watching it and I saw a love heart and I saw the photo of me and Bobby and I saw his name and I thought: 'Oh my God, where is he?' and I was looking around for him."
Bobby admitted he was nervous beforehand and had no idea what Jenny's reaction would be.
"I wouldn't have a clue — she'll be shocked, she'll probably start crying," he told ninemsn before the screening of the proposal video, which cost him more than $800 to have placed at the cinema.
The only hiccup was when he accidentally put the engagement ring on the wrong hand.
Bobby and Jenny met through their siblings — Bobby's brother is going out with Jenny's sister — and have been together for two years.
Although the couple knew they wanted to get married, she had no idea he was going to propose.
"We were going for just a girls' night out and then it's like: 'What the hell? Out of nowhere," Jenny said.
And Bobby admits there is no way he could have done it without Jenny's best friend, Anita Rafou, who spent a month planning the occasion.
Jenny and her friends did not stay to see the film.
