Two brothers will face court after a man was glassed in the face with a champagne bottle and then hit with a broom handle at a Sydney party.
The brothers were at the party in Terry Street, Tempe, in Sydney's inner southwest, at 5.10am (AEDT) on Sunday, when one of them, aged 20, allegedly hit a 22-year-old man on the head with a champagne bottle.
After the bottle smashed the 20-year-old thrust the broken glass into the the left side of the man's face, police say.
The 20-year-old's brother, a 25-year-old male, then allegedly became involved in the attack, smacking the man in the head with a broom handle.
People at the party broke up the fight and called an ambulance.
The 22-year-old was rushed to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital with severe lacerations to the left side of his head, face and neck.
But when police arrived at the house, the brothers had fled.
It was not until 6.30pm (AEDT) on Sunday that the brothers attended Liverpool police station.
They declined to be interviewed and were charged with reckless wounding and affray.
They were granted conditional bail to attend Newtown Local Court on March 5.
