A man charged with trafficking three young women from Thailand to work in his brothel against their will has appeared in court for the first time.
Song Ea, 42, owner of Diamonds 4 Ever at Guildford, in Sydney's west, appeared in Downing Centre Local Court on Tuesday.
He was charged in early February with facilitating the women's entry into Australia, holding them against their will and exploiting them as sex workers.
At the time of his arrest, the Australian Federal Police (AFP) granted him bail, which the court on Tuesday continued until his next appearance on April 10.
Ea, who has black hair, wore a dark suit and bright blue tie.
When he approached the exit of Downing Centre he had his suit jacket pulled over his head to avoid being identified by awaiting media.
His lawyer would not comment on the specifics of the case but told journalists: "We'll defend the charges".
