A 47-year-old man facing a murder charge over the death of a woman in northwestern Victoria is now facing another charge of attempting to kill someone else.

Paramedics were called to a home in Goroke, west of Horsham, on Sunday evening to find a woman with life-threatening injuries.

She died before she could be taken to hospital.

Police charged Michael Kelly, from nearby Apsley, with her murder shortly after the incident.

On Tuesday, police laid the additional charge of attempted murder of another man.

Kelly has been remanded in custody to face both charges in Horsham Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
