The father of three murdered children once beat his daughter so viciously with a pool cue for talking to a boy that she couldn't walk for three days, a court has heard.

Vijay Singh was questioned in the Supreme Court in Brisbane on Wednesday about his attack on Neelma in 1997, six years before she was killed.

Mr Singh was giving evidence in the trial of Max Sica, who is accused of murdering 24-year-old Neelma, her younger brother Kunal, 18, and sister Sidhi, 12.

Their bodies were found in the en suite spa bath of their home in the outer Brisbane suburb of Bridgeman Downs on April 22, 2003.

Sica has pleaded not guilty to three counts of murder but it was Mr Singh who had to answer allegations of violence against his family while on the stand for the fourth day on Wednesday. The court heard he used a pool cue to repeatedly bash Neelma after she lied to him about talking to a boy on the phone.

"You hit your daughter so many times and so viciously that it caused so many bruises she was unable to walk or go to school for three days," defence barrister Sam Di Carlo put to Mr Singh. "I didn't know about the extent of the injuries until later on, which I regretted," Mr Singh replied.

Mr Singh, who faced court for the attack, denied having broken the cue across Neelma's head, saying it probably broke when it hit something else like the floor.

The court was also shown an email that Neelma sent to Sica, her then boyfriend, from Fiji, where she and her mother had gone to investigate allegations Mr Singh was involved in a string of affairs.

In the email Neelma told Sica she had confronted her father over the phone about his infidelity, and that her father threatened to hurt her when she returned to Australia.

"He told me when I get to Brisbane he will cut me to pieces," Neelma wrote.

"He said that he really wants to bash us up and that he is really going to do it."

Neelma then pleads with Sica in the email for him to organise for someone to "bash up" her father.

Mr Singh denied telling his daughter he wanted to cut her.

He said he thought Sica had "brainwashed" Neelma into deceiving her parents about their relationship, but denied he would do anything to have him jailed regardless of whether he was guilty or not.

The trial continues on Monday.
