A teenager has been charged with a raft of driving offences after a police pursuit ended in the death of a young man in Sydney's west.
The 17-year-old boy from South Granville was charged on Thursday. Police say he has refused to be interviewed.
He faces charges including aggravated dangerous driving occasioning death, dangerous driving occasioning death and negligent driving occasioning death.
Police allegedly spotted a blue Mitsubishi driving erratically along Park Road in Auburn in the early hours of Wednesday.
Officers pursued the car but soon lost sight of it.
Moments later, the Mitsubishi crashed into a white Mazda sedan at an intersection and stopped on a nearby footpath.
A male passenger in the rear of the Mitsubishi was taken to a nearby hospital but died a short time later, police said.
Four other people were injured, including the 37-year-old driver of the Mazda sedan, whose arm and leg was fractured.
The teenager is due to appear at Parramatta Children's Court on Friday.
