A brutal killer has been jailed for at least 32 years for murdering two young women whose bodies were found in a burning four-wheel drive in bushland in Perth's eastern suburbs.

Brett Nicholas Richard Kuzimski, 37, sat motionless on Wednesday as West Australian Supreme Court Judge Lindy Jenkins described his "ferocious" and "degrading" acts as those of someone who simply "wanted to experience what it was like to kill another person".

In testimony during his eight-day trial, a prison nurse described how Kuzimski had confessed to the murders of Melanie Carle, 26, and Kellie Maree Guyler, 32, shortly after meeting them.

"Killing is so easy," he coldly told the nurse.

"I killed the first one, then the other. I'm thinking of doing it again."

A forensic pathologist described how the young women had both suffered extensive injuries - including Ms Guyler, who had been stabbed through the right eye and may have taken half an hour to die - before their charred remains were found in their housemate's burning Toyota Land Cruiser off Tonkin Highway, Wattle Grove, in the early hours of May 1, 2010.

Although no motive was ever revealed, the court heard Kuzimski had only met the girls, who were a couple, the day before at his drug dealer's home in Carlisle.

The three, who were all drug addicts, had taken off late that night in a car belonging to a male flatmate to get money and alcohol.

The girls never returned and Kuzimski later told police they had been carjacked and he did not know what had happened to them.

Not even Kuzimski's defence lawyer, John Rando, could offer words of mitigation during his sentencing, saying his client still denied the crimes.

But the evidence during his trial was overwhelming - his blood had been found at the scene, the girls' blood had been found on his clothes - and the jury took less than two hours to convict him.

In passing two life sentences with a minimum parole period of 32 years for each murder, Judge Jenkins said Kuzimski had shown no remorse and was "utterly indifferent to the lives of two young women".

She had considered ordering him "never to be released", and said that there was no guarantee he would be released, even after serving his minimum sentence.

Kuzimski, a short, powerfully built man with a shaven head and gaunt features, sat impassively as the judge spoke, staring mostly at his feet.

Expressing no emotion as the judge handed down her sentence, he flashed only a brief, hostile glance towards the press gallery as he was led by security guards from the dock.

The double-murderer was also jailed for seven years for arson, although an application for compensation for the owner of the four-wheel drive was denied.

Outside the court, Ms Guyler's father Deryck said he and the family of Ms Carle had also been given life sentences, but they were satisfied with the judge's ruling.

"Every family wants justice," he said.

"I don't think he ever will be released.

"However long I'm alive, he's not going to get released - and I plan to outlive him."
